CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. These classes are the foundation of CrossFit Balaclava. Using a combination of Olympic lifting, Power lifting, Gymnastics and Cardio (running, rowing, skipping etc) to create the WOD (workout of the day). Each day is a different combination of movements and prescribed weights that will keep your body and mind in peak physical condition. Programming for these classes is not random. It is structured in 6 week blocks where we concentrate or bias a different area each 6 weeks. Eg a 6 week squat cycle or a 6 week body weight cycle..
In this class we solely concentrate on the 2 Olympic Lifts. The Snatch and The Clean + Jerk (no wod). This class will take all participants through the complete technical progressions of the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and all associated movements including Power Snatch, Power Clean, Power Jerk, Hang variations Squat and pulling progressions. You will receive specific feedback and critique from the coach on your technique and execution of these lifts.
CrossFit Balaclava has launched their Kids and Teens CrossFit program running weekly on Saturdays and Sundays from 10.15-11am.
Our CrossFit Kids and Teens Programs are designed to empower Kids and Teens with healthy fitness habits whilst having fun, burning energy and learning physical skills and functional movements. The skills and principles taught will develop your childs ten general physical skills;
- Cardio-respiratory endurance
We combine parts of gymnastics, bodyweight movements, running and weightlifting in a fun and inclusive environment to build confidence and ensure interest is maintained with ever changing workouts.
Our Coach Will is a certified school teacher and CrossFit Coach and will guide your child every step of the way, ensuring they are getting the most out of the program.
